I love working with early stage startups, which is why I’m a partner at Costanoa Ventures where I get to work with startups every day. I also love sharing the lessons I’ve learned from my 30 years in tech. It all started at Microsoft—as a product manager on Word and Office—before working at Netscape and watching both companies transform the industry. I teach what I've learned as a partner at Silicon Valley Product Group and at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Engineering, where I am a long-time Lecturer. When I’m not working, I love cycling, running, traveling, movies, snowboarding and XC skiing. I married my college crush, have two amazing kids, and a Havanese who occasionally makes Zoom appearances. My adopted home is San Francisco (I was born in the L.A. area) where my OV Episode IV, V, and VI action figures keep me and my family company.
